Gallatin Valley Dirt Riders is doing something a little different this year for Hyline Raceway. We have found that most riders and many past members don't actually want to be members or want to be involved in the operation of the track on a regular basis. Most riders just want a good place to ride for an affordable price. So, Season Passes will be offered for Hyline Raceway to those who just want to ride and don't necessarily want to be involved in the operation of track or have voting rights, etc.
Season Passes are priced at $350/year for an individual or family (some restriction apply for family Season Passes) and can be purchased at the new Yamaha dealership in Bozeman, Blitz Motorsports located on North 19th Avenue. Season Passes should be available next week (we are waiting for a new gate lock and keys to be made). You still get a gate key for the track and you can ride almost anytime you want but without any membership requirements (i.e. volunteer work hours, meetings, etc.)
We will still offer a few days of riding throughout the summer where the track is open to non-members and non-season pass holders, where you can just pay at the gate to ride for the day.
GVDR membership requirements and obligations haven't changed much for 2012. But memberships will be limited to those who made considerable contributions during previous years and/or have the most interest in the operation of the track. The cost is $250/year, but if you were a member the previous year and are in good standing with GVDR, you are eligible for a $100 discount, bringing the membership total price to $150. Memberships can only be obtained by applying at one of the monthly GVDR membership meetings, held the first Tuesday of every month beginning in March. The March and April meetings will be held at Blitz Motorsports, then at Hyline Raceway thereafter for the rest of the summer. The meetings begin at 6:30pm.
We are planning for some upgrades to the watering system this spring to provide better riding conditions on a weekly basis. The sprinklers suffered a lot of damage last year and we didn't get to water as much as we would have liked since we were limited to only fire hoses and a water truck.

There are considerable obligations that need to be fulfilled as a member such as, meetings, weekly work nights, and voluntarily work before, during and after events and races, etc.
Season Pass holders are not obligated to do any of those things. Just show up and ride.
