Wanted to call out a couple 60+ year old racers - if there are more than two please speak up! Ken "OMR" Robins (Old Man Robins) #35, and Chris Schleining #93. When Chris told me she was 62 I didn't believe her...but most women go the other direction when lying about their age! Chris how long have you been the events clerk? Ken was a 7th year senior in college when dirt bikes were invented ha-ha. Motocross is a tough sport, and to be out there competing at 60+ years old is incredible.
Here's what motivated me to post this...Ken's 4th moto was a grueling full 7 laps on a rough track at the end of a long day. If you were there you know how rough the track was. I said a few prayers during lap 7, then gave him a huge thumbs up while waving the checkered flag. Arch rival (I'm making this part up) #742 Tim "always looks like a million bucks shiny new everything" Starky was on his tail the last 3 laps and couldn't make the pass....getting around Ken is difficult..he's old so you don't want to knock him down, and he won't back it down if you show him a wheel. Ken I'm not worthy, I have serious respect for you....you are awesome...that was a super human effort by you in 40B moto #2. Well done!

Thanks for the compliment. This is the 17th year for me holding the position of events clerk. I have been involved with motocross since 1992. Ken and I are not old. We are just more determined. JN Roberts is a few years ahead of us. He is another determined one. The thing is when you reach this time of life, having fun and making each minute count is the goal. Ken did an awesome job Sunday. Thanks. - Chris

I remember just a few years ago, Ken taking it to all the +30 Int. riders (in Helena) and won that moto!! (I remember this well because I was right behind him. haha) Im sure I won't make it as long as Ken has, even after this latest injury I wonder how much more i wanna subject my body to. But it is amazing he his still in the game! Nice!
When I first started MX seven years ago, Chris was one my first contacts for the sport and has helped me in so many ways over the years...I couldnt even begin to imagine Montana motocross without her. Thanks Chris!!!!

Geez! when we first started in the HCMA when Conley was four and a half years old, I can still see it now nearly 12 years later, Nancey Thilmonie and Barney Horton lookin me up and down as I lined jr. up, shortly after doing all this paper work crap with who I would swear was with a lady that had to be a senior citizen, then to see her get out of the shack and race pert near blew me over, I just cant' figure out how you managed to turn the aging process around as I would,if I didn't know better, swear you look younger each year Kinda funny how a few of us Helena vet riders use Ken O.M.R. as abench mark still, thank God he is slowing ever so slightly..Kevin

Chris is awesome and true advocate of motocross in montana. I asked her at Reed Point when she was filling out the card - how she has done it for so long? - quite impressive how long she has taken care of us. Always there with a smile and a genuine nice gal. Heres to Ken - keep it pinned.
