passing on the info
Everyone,
After coordinating with all the interested parties I have come up with a final schedule for our work at the Hungry Horse Track and spending the funds from our Yamaha grant.
Monday, June 11th- FDRA meeting at the track 6:30pm - 8:00pm to discuss current business, clean-up day and track layout.
We will also be bulldozing all day to layout the new kids track approved by the Forest Service.
Tuesday, June 12th- Bulldozer work, finishing kids track and starting on larger track.
Wednesday, June 13th- Bulldozer work on larger track.
Thursday, June 14th- Bulldozer work only if needed.
Saturday, June 16th- "Clean-Up day" 10am-2pm
Try to make the Monday meeting if you can because Scott and I want everyones help in how the larger track should be repaired and laid out.
Also try and come during the week to ride the track so we can have some feedback.
The Forest Service has been getting calls regarding interest in the club and work on the track.
I hope to get an even bigger turnout this year.
Thanks,
Jeff Wentzel

Jeff:
Great Job! Thanks for everyone's hard work. Track looks great.
Just one minor issue that my posse had: The double in the back section is a bit unusable for those who do not want to jump it. The take-off lip is way too steep on the back side and the material between the faces is not packed down, and just too soft. The kids were able to carve a trail around it to the left and go around. However, it would be nice if they, or anyone, could just roll the jump. I also think it is a bit of a bad spot for a double like that due to trees being on both sides, and no where to go in case of a mishap on landing. If you insist on the double remaining there, please make the take off back side better, so the jump can be rolled. Personally, I think that spot would be a great place for a small rythm section to check speed before the rocky downhill. Remember; there are a ton of kids who love to go up there.
Other than that, you guys and gals did a bang-up job. Love the up-hill section with the lip, and what you did on the last of the back section before the left sweeper into the sand.
Thank you,
Duke Goss

I was wondering if you guys have open practice and races we just moved to Montana and are trying to find places for the kids to race we are located in Eureka and have had no luck in finding a place and my son has lost his sponsors since he hasnt raced this year. Even if you just have practices would be great they just want to ride.

I also live in Eureka. We usually ride or race every weekend. Send me an email to jlsherwood@interbel.net and I will let you know where to ride and get you in touch of some places to race. We generally head to Spokane.

Was wondering If or when the track was going to get reworked before the snow started to fall?
