I'll start by saying we have had two very good races to start the 2013 season. One day we shall race with no cold wind. At least I hope so. We have had a couple of things that have come up that Jeff and Dave wanted me to post on the website. 1) All riders need to do a better job of stopping at the conclusion of your race so that we can collect the transponders. It is starting to get a little ridiculous running them down constantly. We understand there will be situations where the bike will not come through the finish line (crash, breakdown, fell of during the race, etc.) and the officers will need to run those transponders down. Parents please talk to your mini riders about how we need them to stop so that we can remove their transponder. 2) It is required by the HCMA that all children under the age of 18 wear a neck roll/brace of some kind. I know that Dave will be addressing this at the next riders meeting and I am fairly certain that if you are under the age of 18 and do not have a neck roll/brace you will not be permitted to ride. 3) FLAGGERS....now before I begin let me first admit that the Butte club which both Jeff and I belong to screwed this up a little last week as well as this past week in Niarada. We need all flaggers at the track no later than 6:45 am. so that Jeff and I can go over things with them prior to practice. Both in Anaconda and in Niarada flaggers were not present for practice and there was a makeshift crew put together to get practice going. Here is what I know about this. Dave will NOT start practice any longer without the race day flaggers being present and on time for the meeting that needs to happen between them and Jeff and I at the conclusion of the riders meeting. Clubs (Butte club included) need to keep this in mind for the remainder of the season. I think we can all agree that we do not need a catastrophic injury or any injury for that matter because we do not have a sh** together with the flaggers.
Thanks for keeping these things in mind and good luck to all of you for the remainder of the race season.
