20 dollars for practice? Seriously. Most of us travel quite a ways and we all really enjoy the practice days. The Great Falls and Helena practices were awesome and fun was had by all. But when you charge 10 to get in and 20 for practice we are up to 100 bucks for my clan of 3 riders and 1 moto mamma. Most of us that practice on Saturdays have more than one rider - usually two or three. My suggestion would be to wave the entry fee for those who practice on Saturday - or even better yet, charge 10 bucks like the other tracks!

Yeah it sucks for sure being hit like that all at once, however if we were at the end of August and the GVDR club had a open practice for five hours on prepped track,,,,would you really still complain about paying $20 bucks to ride? This practice just so happens to fall next to a State Race which makes us see how much money is going out at one single time. They have been charging $20 for open practice practically forever, and this a practice day like any other they have had. I understand your concerns but it’s a practice and motocross is pricey. Then again I could be completely wrong! I'm not a member, heck I don't live in Bozo. Im just blabberinng,,,,

We race many other series and all practice days are $20.00. They are how ever longer than 3 sessions. I do feel what you are saying though. GVDR wants to give the riders and families a good value. We can do a family price. I will talk it over and get it posted.
Sorry no quads on Sat. I know, I know. The club has just spent to much time and money trying to prep our soil. Borrow your buddies bike for Sat. and the quad on Sun.

I consider safety #1 in motocross. Practicing on the track the day before the race is a good idea. This allows the riders to figure out the obstacles and the layout of the track. The muddy practice the morning of the race does not always allow this. Safety needs to be considered for every one no matter where they are or who it is. Motocross is a dangerous sport. Safety is overlooked so many times. I know as a result of a tragic incident that was preventable. The quads deserve this type of consideration instead of being looked at as a minority. 5 - 6 quads have been coming to the previous practice days. I don't understand how 5 - 6 quads destroy a track especially if the track has been worked as much as stated. Their safety is just as viable as everyone elses.

I agree completely with cswhitey. It just seems really unfair that the quads never get the same treatment.

Thanks Chris and Jane. I would gladly pay $20 to get some laps on the track the day before in good conditions rather than being a track groomer sunday morning on a slip and slide. it is really not much safer on a race quad than a bike in the mud. They don't take it like a utility ATV, they slide around like they are on grease.

They could completely shut down practice for Saturday and everybody gets to do there 3 or 4 laps in mud on Sunday because it aint worth the hassle of people complaining about it! They have a chance to make a litttle extra money for there track/club and make the majority of riders happy. If the quads were allowed to practice, for safety seasons the quads would have to be on the track by themselves. If these 4 or 5 quad riders were allowed to practice, they would be taking track time away from so many other riders. Now thats not fair! For 4 or 5 quads?! You wanna ask all these other riders to give up there time on the track for 4-5 people? Quads are treated different because the are different than bikes. Sorry to "that guy" again, but it just the way it is. But I do hope something can be worked out,,,,,

I don't think anyone is asking them to take time away from the bikes so the quads can practice. They are just asking for their 15 minute practice like everyone else. Every other track has allowed the quads this so they are not asking for anything "extra" or "special." Yes, quads are different but they also pay the same membership fees, gate fees, and racing fees as everyone else. It's funny how the quads are picked on and complained about often but when someone actually stands up for the quads it is considered complaining, hmmmmm......
