Thanks!

1. Open Jr and Open Beg classes to be combined but stagger started. 2. +30 class to be A & B only now. 3. +25 class removed. 4. Change big bike class names from 125 to 250 and 250 to 450. 5. Require tracks to have transponder pvc pipe buried prior to race day. 6. Run the 50s on as much of the big track as possible so they can use the transponders. 7. Require all classes to meet 60% of laps per moto to receive moto points (was 50% and all 50 riders receive finish points). 8. In order to save clubs money, change trophy structure to: Trophy big bike classes to top 4 places and mini classes to top 5. No more participant trophies for 50s. In regards to #8 (we like to save the best till last): This is a classic case of "Out Smarting Ourselves". This ill-conceived notion was intended to save money on trophy costs but in fact will do the opposite. After superimposing this structure onto previous races I quickly discovered that the net result will be "more trophies" NOT less. This rule change looked good on the surface but the numbers clearly refute that. The lower the rider count the more this new rule change will affect you. The bottom line: Any races with less that 350 (+or-) riders; expect to pay more for trophies in 2011.

Thank you Ken... Yikes, that could be a problem. If we only have 150-200 riders or should I say entries at a race, with many classes only having 4 riders (which means every rider gets a trophy) could be a disaster for the club financially. Maybe this could be reconsidered? Oh, who are the new officials for next year with Paul and Stacey no longer Ref and Points Clerk (respectively)

The rule book states that rules can only be changed after the meeting for safety reasons. Paul Foran, obviously did the math because he was voting for it. Be careful what you wish for, you might get it. Sorry.

Paul Foran, obviously did the math because he was voting for it. As our friendly trophy vendor, that did seem a little odd... Then... Not now... Like I said: We really outsmarted ourselves.

Last night, I picked one of the races from this last season, figured the trophy count the old way which was 82 - then figured out the new way - trophy count 100. This increased the club expense by 18 trophies. I don't think this rule is going to save the clubs any money - it is going to cost the clubs. This is what happens when some of the suggestions are not looked at in a logistic way. Chris

History repeats its self when we don't learn from it. This is why some organizations choose to trophy only 33%. There must be at least three racers to make a class and then the winner gets the trophy but the other two don't. Any questions? -Jim

The way the ruling is now, yes the top 4 (in your case 3) will all receive a trophy, even though they are the only ones in the class.

Just like I said earlier...clubs are gonna be in trouble with trophy costs this year, or you will see some really cheap trophies at some races. Lesson learned...the hard way.

In reply to the trophy issue. I believe Delaware's ill-conceived proposal was meant for there to be a MAXIMUM of 4 trophies per class. The 33% would still apply. 1-4 would get 1 place, 4-5 gets 2 places and so forth. It would not necessarily result in more trophies. I was not the only one who voted this in! The intent should be followed and not taken so literally. Common sense should prevail.
A race with 3 riders would not get 3 trophies in this case.
As to the cost, the rulebooks states the trophies must $20 each.
There should be some flexibility with this issue so the clubs are not burdened with extra costs.

i agree with the idea that most people thought they were voting for a reduction in trophy placing, not the idea that no matter what, they will trophy 4 places even with only 4 riders. i believe part of the idea was to get away from the participant trophies in the 50 class, and having so many extra trophies left over after every race. come on officials, see the practical side of this and then change the rule to what it should be. it may not be safety related, but it is just common sense.
