The Billings Motorcycle Club will once again be putting on the Elk Basin Cross Country race south of Belfry on June 23rd. It is not part of the series this year but it is on an off weekend so plan on attending for a fun day of racing in the Montana desert.
This will be the 37th year running of this race, and to keep the tradition going we need riders. Hopefully mother nature turns down the heat a little from last year, but regardless we will have an awesome course set up.
Plan on coming down early and camping out with us, we will be doing a Poker Run Saturday night on the big course. Kids races Sunday morning with the big bikes right after.
I will keep you updated the details on this thread and on the Billings Motorcycle Club website.
Awesome job taking this on guys. Excited you mapped out a new course! Just a suggestion - is there any way you can move the kids race to Saturday and start the Sunday races earlier than 1:30??? Like the format at Burnt Timber. If I drive over from Western MT, I'm looking at a 6 hour drive to get home. Starting the race in the afternoon like that puts me home quite late on Sunday. Plus its hard enough riding in the mid morning heat, let alone the hotteset part of the day. THis is a great event thats hard enough as it is! But don't let my suggestions deter your willingness to do this, I respect you guys for taking this on.
